Own It!

There was a recent blog posting asking the question “Are pursehooks dorky?” Several people weighed in on this matter and the final result was that people thought they were dorky. I would like to take this opportunity to offer my own opinion on this subject.

Women all over the world spend so much money on beautiful handbags and when they sit down at a restaurant or bar what do they do? They either keep it on their lap or put that beautiful handbag on the dirty floor where it can get stepped on, kicked around and dirty. I cringe every time I see a beautiful handbag on the floor and am so tempted to walk right up to them and hang it up for them.

Now I understand feeling a little silly when you sit down at a fancy restaurant and pull out your purse hook. Trust me, I felt the same way when I started to use mine. However, the reaction from every woman around me was interest and excitement inquiring on where they could get one for themselves. They were tired of putting their nice purses on the floor.

Consider the runways of Paris, Milan and even Fashion week in New York. Women strut their stuff in clothing that would never be worn in real life but when they wear it, they walk confidently, and make it look great.

If you are worried about looking dorky, you are worrying about what others think. Do you really care what the person next to you thinks about your beautiful handbag? Who cares if they like it or not and if they think you are “dorky” for protecting it and hanging it on the table, then too bad for them. They are the ones who have dirty purses.

I have a friend who believes that no matter what you wear, as long as you own it, you will look fabulous. I feel the same way about a purse hook. If you love your handbag, you should want to take care of it and you can have a simple purse hook that blends in with the table or an ornate one that shows off your personal style. Either way, as long as you own it, you, your handbag and your purse hook will look fabulous.

I kind of felt “dorky” when I first used my Pursehook but I didn’t want to put my bag, that I had spent thousands on, on the floor or on my chair where someone could easily take it.

I used my Pursehook at the Hard Rock in Vegas and I had staff AND customers asking me what it was! They ALL thought it was cool!

I use my pursehook whenever I go out. I don’t trust leaving my purse on a chair. A friend’s purse was stolen when she left it on a chair next to her. People often comment on my hook and ask where they can get one too. Of course I tell them about Silverhooks.
